Prior to his passing on Friday, Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg endorsed the work of Bring Our Troops Home, a non-profit led by veterans of the Global War on Terror committed to ending America’s endless wars in the Middle East and Africa. This organization is the spearhead of the Defend the Guard movement.
During an October 16, 2020 interview with Antiwar.com Editorial Director Scott Horton, Ellsberg said:
“We’ve heard so much about – for the last 40 years – support the troops. In those 40 years the way to support the troops was to bring them home from the war they were fighting and should not have been fighting. You’ve brought to my attention recently, Scott, a group called Bring Our Troops Home. Sounds very good to me.”

The USA is mad with power. It thinks the number of bases it has overseas is not enough. It’s building two more bases in the Philippines and possibly more somewhere else.
It isn’t good enough for the USA that it encircles Russia so it also encircles China. It is arming China to the teeth so it can be the USA’s Partner in War Crimes.
Joe Biden is playing with fire and needs to cool down. So do Lindsay Graham and many other politicians.
This is the way of empire. It’s driven by egomania, which creates a lust for power, money, and material things. They think that if they can dominate the world militarily, they can have and do whatever they want. And of course there’s the military/industrial complex that profits greatly from all this. On the other side we have the seven of us peace advocates. Not fair!!!

They lauded Daniel Ellsberg in death, and then immediately in the headlines above his obit went right back to your regularly scheduled the Pentagon propaganda of Russia and China BAD articles. And then immediately bury the Ellsberg obituary and news of the Blinken meeting with the Chinese below those propaganda pieces. Oh how low the NYT have fallen since they published the Pentagon Papers. Just a quick day of observation with NYT editorial choices (what “news”? It’s all editorial now)

Regardless, mainstream/establishment media has always been crap, even though it’s worse now. I was reading underground newspapers in the 1960s because the mainstream ones had no credibility, with the exception of a few writers.
