WikiLeaks Coming in a Trickle, Not a Torrent

The early releases of the massive WikiLeaks document release have been a lot to cover, but they are barely the tip of the iceberg for those waiting for the “7x the size of Iraq” document dump. It is a trickle, not a torrent, and indeed not a bittorrent (at least yet).

The Guardian broke first with its own, as usual stellar, coverage. But the site’s flash app search feature covers only a few score documents, not the hundreds of thousands they received. A Google App they put up to help organize the data was likewise struggling, intermittently down, apparently due to overwhelming interest.

But the Guardian reports that it cannot put all of the documents up because of some vagaries of British law, and WikiLeaks itself is under an intense attack that has brought their site to a standstill, keeping them from releasing a full document dump as has been their wont in the past.

The New York Times, likewise, has only a few of the cables available on their site, and interesting though they may be, they are far short of the full on document dump and leave us wondering what else might be in there.

It seems the trickle of releases will likely pick up as time goes on but WikiLeaks is suggesting that the documents will be released over the course of the new few month, meaning the story will be a continuing one through the end of the year at least.

  1. there is no excuse to not release the files; come on release all the files WE WANT IT BADLY, we dont need any secrets anymore; put it on the table.

  2. That would be "vagaries" not "vagueries"

Cables show that everyone seems to be 100% certain Iran is going to go ballistic/nuclear RSN. Talk about an echo chamber.

  3. The issue is not one of "State Secrets" being disclosed to foreign governments, but the far bigger problem of "EMPIRE secrets" being clearly seen by Americans at home.

It seems to me that all the tremendous angst, consternation, and difficulty of the US in messaging, dealing and explaining what is coming out from Wikileaks really does not have anything to do concerns about the normal "roughness', candor, or embarrassment of explaining the supposed foreign 'damage' of how normal diplomacy works, but rather the shock of American citizens at home seeing how an EMPIRE conducts global policy.

If the leaked information contains what I strongly think that it will clearly reveal, the real danger that 'our' (sic) government is fearing is that of how average American citizens will react to seeing that their own supposed government is acting like an EMPIRE with the rest of the world —- and that the American people will realize that they have been being lied to for decades, and that their government, far from acting like a normal democracy (or democratic republic) has been acting like an Empire and IS an Empire.

That's the real threat that has all of the politicians from both 'Vichy' parties, and their professional bureaucratic and technocratic underlings, and more importantly the ruling-elite of this previously well hidden global corporate/financial/militarist EMPIRE posing as the nation called America nervous as whores in church —- that the people will now see them as phonies, shills, pimps, and treasonous whores for an Empire whose disguise is now coming off.

    1. "The issue is not one of "State Secrets" being disclosed to foreign governments, but the far bigger problem of "EMPIRE secrets" being clearly seen by Americans at home. "

      Well said!

    2. Well duuuh! Anyone who has even half a brain can see that! The US Government are the terrorists! Once again, "THE US GOVERNMENT ARE THE BIGGEST TERRORIST BASTARDS OF THEM ALL"

  4. So far, no surprises.

North Korea sells missiles to Iran. Range of Iranian missiles longer than US publicly admits. Syria supplies Hezbollah, no doubt via North Korea-Iran. The Sunni Saudi’s want us to make the Islamic world safe for them by knocking down Shia Iran — while they finance Al Qaeda, so the infidels are kept off balance, and highly-motivated. Afghan officials are walking bundles of millions out, no questions answered as to where it came from, even when caught — taking money out, and caught lying when denying doing such. Obama tries to bribe other countries to take in Guantanamo detainees. And the Chinese hack US computer systems. Oh, and US diplomats, like all diplomats with diplomatic immunity, they spy on other diplomats.

Like I said, no surprises. Only confirmation of what should have been already apparent to anyone.

The only surprise is that Julian Assange is still alive. He must have some state secret service watching his back for him, even if he’s not aware of such. More power to him.

  5. Call it what you will , people will die because of these leaks . And WHO appointed Assange as moral arbitor ? And to use the phony piety of "free speech " is no excuse . The person or persons who leaked this info are traitors to their country and countrymen , and Julian Assange is an enemy of the US , and it's people . Assange has shown no concern for individuals thusfar .
Therefore any deaths which occur are directly on his head , and since Assange will no doubt keep himself out of the reach of any US prosecution …..he will not be out of reach of freinds and relatives of any who may die due to his revelations ….and thus be subject to "natural justice " . Otherwise known as 'karma " in some circles …but with a little human pushback .

    1. The government has stated they have no evidence to back up their claim that people have died because of the leaks. Do you have any special evidence that the government doesn't have?

  6. And as far as all this B>S> about "empire " and "disguises " we'll see the nature of Assanges agenda in the type of information he releases .

        1. Yup, the Anglo-American Zionist cabal is the real war-mongering evil empire…Judeo-Masonry, the Synagogue of Satan..Israel's the worst enemy we have, most Americans just don't know it yet.

    1. We've seen his agenda…everything critical of Israel and their AIPAC-run spy op is deleted..Everything damning about Israel's enemies, no matter how far-fectched ( "Turkey is arming terrorists in Iraq", when Israel has been arming Kurdish terrorists for a decade ) is in there…Oh yeah, and he buys the official bs version of 9-11-that most members of the 9-11 commission have publicly said they don't buy..( Just goes to show it only takes a couple of bad apples-Zelikow-to keep a "commission" on the established crooked straight and narrow )…If the American people ever find out that Dominic Suter, Dov Zakheim. Silverstein and Lowy had more to do w/9-11 than any Muslim Israel will cease to exist in 96 hrs.

      1. Keep that tin-foil hat on chump ! If you ever opened your eyes , you'd quickly realiuze that your head is up your arse .
If you still have doubts on 9/11 , then you're a proud member of the conspiracy wingnut club …a trufer and imbecile .

Good luck , dont go hurting yourself .

        1. All four planes had their transponders turned off-it takes multiple classified access codes to do that-case closed..Not one got off a simple, quick 3 digit "being hijacked" signal..That wasn't a "pancake collapse" it was a mid-air pulverization…no wreckage consistent with that of a 767 at the Pentagon…Thermite and rdx found in debris…who had access to the complex? Arabs? No the demo-expert IDF boys working for the mossad front moving co..You're the ass R/T..or, more accurately, a propaganda spewing liar…the planes were electronically hijacked..nine of the "hijackers" are still alive and wondering why their names/faces were used…How many times do I have to close this case?

  7. Alan MacDonald says :

"The issue is not one of "State Secrets" being disclosed to foreign governments, but the far bigger problem of "EMPIRE secrets" being clearly seen by Americans at home"

Oh really Alan ? You keep trying to convince yourself of that .Or should I say "deluding yourself " .

  8. Within 24 hours people in the US will be more interested in Bristol Palin after spending the last day hearing about how Assange is the anti-christ and a cute puppy molester; and that's the die-hards. Most people will scoff and dismiss it as some liberal media conspiracy, flip the channel and not think a thing about it. The release itself is unparalleled, but sadly I doubt it will do much more than momentarily embarrass a few bureaucrats while the ritalin pumped, adderal fueled 24hr news cycle runs its course.

  9. And if it results in the deaths of other people , what will you then say ? Will you still be "sad " ?

    1. You still missed the real story; AIPAC is the source of the Wikileaks "leak"…they ( just read Mr. Rosen's deposition ) are the biggest, most successful spy operation on US soil, and the one DOD is most concerned about…they're not our ally bright boy, they're a parasite that is running it's host off a cliff….Israel, Russia, Turkey, China and Iran trade our military secrets like baseball cards and the originator is AIPAC….you heard of the indictments, right? Sorry, you were busy watching Beck…

  10. AIPAC ? you're the moron Bill , right up there on the same shelf as Beck , Jones and fat boy Limbaugh .
Funny how people are not born stupid , but make that choice all by themselves .And Bill , you just can't fix stupid . Bad choice ..uh …"Legendary Bill " …lol…but atleast we all know what it is about you that is "legendary "

    1. R/T's chuckling like the caught child he is….AIPAC, the biggest spy op on american soil, had no hand in this? Are you kidding? They're pushing us to kill more of their enemies for them..they don't want us to be successful..they want us to sink deeper into the quicksand that surrounds their crime syndicate hide-out masquerading as a country…Yeah, and the FBI can't find Assange but he can make any TV interview he wants..

  11. Virtually, ALL of the leaks at DOD are associated with the Israeli spy network which has, as it's nexus, AIPAC…that's just the fact..you figure it out-if you care to..

  12. One thing is certain – whatever that is true and damanaging to the Establishment will never be handed to the public raw and untouched. Before you read it in the NYT or see it on FOX or CNN, it will have to go through processing where it will be filtered, picked over and spun dry. The scene where the kid reporter goes to the pressroom and yells “Stop the presses, I’ve got a story that will blow the cover off all the corruption going on around here!” – well that’s in a movie.
Our Establishment may have many imcompetancies, but when it comes to bullshit, lying, and truth twisting we truly are #1 (well right after Israel, anyway).

  13. Why no mention of clandestine Israeli businesses takeover of the oil/nat gas fields of neighboring Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan? Why the lies about the ISI? Why no mention of the CIA/Mossad drug profiteering by partnering w/Afghan drug lords?

  14. lol…"neighboring Turkmenistan , Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan " by who ? Israel ? Well how can you expect a parrot to know geography ?

  15. how come no mention of the mind controlling microchips in H1N1 vaccines, and or their ongoing effort to combat tin foil hats from blocking the i/o signals? Its ok the world is going to come to an end in December 2012 anyways..

    LOL!!!

  16. Anyone who doesn't support WikiLeaks or what they stand for is probably too brainwashed by the fake-ass media whores to even know what real freedom actually means, and they can suck my dick. I am sick of the big-brother fueled attack on the truth. The truth hurts, get over it pussies!
