Conflicts of Interest: The Pentagon Manufactures Crises It Cannot Control

On COI #189, Kyle Anzalone and Connor Freeman – writer at the Libertarian Institute – talk about increasing tensions in Eastern Europe and the Persian Gulf.

Kyle covers the refugee crisis on the border shared by Poland and Belarus. Washington and their European allies have accused Minsk of “orchestrating” the dire humanitarian situation. But the refugees are attempting to reach Europe, fleeing countries such as Yemen, Iraq, and Syria which have been largely destroyed by America’s post 9/11 wars. Kyle breaks down the news on the refugees’ mistreatment. He also reports on the European Union preparing new sanctions on Belarus. Poland is buying more American arms as well, including 300 used MRAPs and 250 Abrams tanks.

Connor details the hawks’ plans for regime change in Minsk, including the National Endowment for Democracy’s involvement in Belarus.

Kyle further reports on escalations in the Black Sea region. The U.S. has accused Moscow of a massive troop buildup in western Russia aimed at Ukraine. Moscow denies the accusations, pointing to the increasing U.S./NATO presence in the region as the source of instability. NATO is hyping the alleged Russian threat, saying they “stand” with Ukraine. A German regulator has temporarily suspended the license for Nord Stream 2 and Kiev is pushing for more U.S. sanctions to block the pipeline

Connor then covers the latest news on the soon to resume JCPOA talks, including the Iranians’ potential economic benefits that could result from significant sanctions relief. Connor argues U.S., Israel, and their allied Gulf dictatorships are fomenting instability, including openly preparing for war.

Conflicts of Interest: Biden Admin Works to Prevent Diplomacy with Iran

On COI #183, Kyle Anzalone discusses how the Biden administration has prevented a return to the Iran Nuclear Deal. Iran recently made an effort to re-engage in the Vienna talks, but the US met this offer with sanctions and threats. Iran has been clear, it will not return to the negotiating table under American pressure and threats.

Kyle breaks down recent testimony by Gitmo detainee Majid Khan. Khan said his torturers needlessly shoved medical equipment into his anus and sexually abused his genitals. Khan also detailed the waterboarding and other torture he suffered. His testimony was so powerful that a military jury offered a note to the court condemning the CIA.

Kyle updates the situation in Afghanistan as starving people prepare for a cruel winter. A sudden withdrawal of international aid has pushed those in poverty to the brink of starvation. US sanctions and the Biden administration’s decision to freeze Afghan government funds are largely responsible for the crisis.

Conflicts of Interest: Biden Targets the Truth with Assange Prosecution

On COI #182, Kyle Anzalone breaks down the recent updates in Assange’s extradition case. Biden, like Trump, is prosecuting Assange for publishing evidence of American war crimes. The US/UK governments are criminalizing journalism and dealing a fatal blow to the First Amendment.

Kyle discusses a recent missile test by China. The US deep state is using the test to a new arms race with China and trillions in military spending. Kyle explains the true significance of the missile test and how American provocations are starting a cold war with China.

Conflicts of Interest: Did Biden Miss His Chance to Save the Iran Nuclear Deal?

On COI #180, Connor Freeman – writer at the Libertarian Institute – returns to the show to discuss Biden’s failure to engage in diplomacy with Iran. Connor breaks down recent reports that Biden refused an Iranian offer to commit to reviving the JCPOA for the remainder of his presidency. The offer – a massive concession from Tehran – was rejected. Connor also explains how Israel’s aggression towards Iran is killing any last hopes for diplomacy.

Conflicts of Interest: Max Boot’s Ethnically Planned State

On COI #179, Kyle Anzalone refutes Max Boot’s recent Washington Post op-ed arguing against boycotting Israel. In the article, Boot admits that the reason we must reject BDS is that the movement calls for a “right of return” for Palestinian refugees. He admits that Palestinians cannot live in their homeland because that would make Israel a majority Palestinian state. Boot concludes his article by cowardly suggesting that people who oppose Israel only do so because they harbor a hatred for Jews.

Kyle breaks down Joe Biden’s gaffe at his town hall with Anderson Cooper. Biden said the US was committed to militarily defending Taiwan. However, the decades-long US policy – and US law – says that the US takes a position of “strategic ambiguity” on Taiwan’s defense. The White House then walked back Biden’s blunder saying US policy towards Taiwan remains unchanged. While the Biden statement was undiplomatic, it is representative of the increasing US aggression towards China.

Conflicts of Interest: Fiction or Fact? Havana Syndrome & Energy Weapons guest Alan MacLeod

On COI #178, Alan MacLeod – writer at FAIR and Mint Press News – joins Kyle Anzalone to discuss the facts and fictions of direct energy weapons and Havana Syndrome. Starting in 2016, Americans at the US Embassy in Cuba reported feeling headaches, nausea and brain fog. The Trump administration encouraged everyone at the embassy to report when they were not generally feeling well. A rash of cases of various symptoms were then lumped into a novel ailment, the so-called ‘Havana Syndrome.’ However, the “illness” still has no identified cause and its alleged symptoms vary wildly from person-to-person.

Nonetheless, the lack of any scientific or medical evidence has not stopped the US government and media from claiming the ‘syndrome’ is a result of attacks directed by China, Russia or another American ‘adversary.’ Now, the number of Havana Syndrome cases has topped 200, with some patients even retiring due to the supposedly debilitating effects of the illness. The corporate press has rolled this narrative into Russiagate as well, claiming Trump’s CIA downplayed the Havana Syndrome simply to maintain relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Alan points out that while the Havana Syndrome is a fiction, the US government is, in fact, working to develop directed energy weapons. Alan explains how they are currently used on the battlefield, and how the tech might evolve in the future.
