Which Country Are Ron DeSantis and Opponents Running for President of Again?

“The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations,” George Washington wrote in his farewell address as first president of the United States, “is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible.  … it is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world.”

Four years later, in his inaugural address as the country’s third president, Thomas Jefferson announced “peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none” as an “essential principle” of his administration.

That was all a long time ago, and many things have changed.

Nothing Screams Christian Values Like Massacres and Mass Weapons Sales

Reprinted from Bracing Views with the author’s permission.

Roughly half of President Biden’s recent budget request for more than $105 billion for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and border security is dedicated to weapons sales. Nothing screams Christian values like massacres and mass weapons sales.

Speaking of massacres, Aaron Maté has a powerful article on Gaza and the U.S. role in facilitating Israel’s destruction of the same. Here’s an excerpt:

According to Save the Children, the number of Palestinian children killed in just three weeks has already surpassed the annual number of children killed across the world’s conflict zones since 2019. “Gaza has become a graveyard for children,” a UNICEF spokesperson says. “It’s a living hell for everyone else.” In a statement demanding a ceasefire, seven UN special rapporteurs now warn that “the Palestinian people are at grave risk of genocide.”

Accusations of Apartheid, Genocide, and Ethnic Cleansing by Israel: Do They Have Merit?

For decades Israel has been given a free pass by Western countries to do things against the Palestinian people that would be thoroughly condemned if attempted by other states. Intellectual honesty demands of us that we use the same standards to judge Israel’s actions as we do for other states no matter how controversial our conclusions may be.

By internationally recognized standards, a state that segregates an entire ethnic population, and confines them to an extensive “open air prison,” is by definition an apartheid state. And this is precisely what Israel has done to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. It has imprisoned  over two million ethnic people while maintaining control over the air, land, sea, and everything that comes in and out of Gaza.

Canadian Special Forces in Israel Are Not Helping Palestinians

Canada’s most elite soldiers have been dispatched to Israel. While it’s unclear if they are assisting the onslaught on Gaza, their deployment highlights close Canadian ties to the genocidal apartheid regime.

Global News has reported that JTF2 were in Israel. The stated reason for the deployment of Canada’s most specialized soldiers is to assist the embassy with security and evacuations. That may be true. But the deployment also reflects Canada-Israel military cooperation and may entail a more direct role in Gaza.

Lindsey Graham on Gaza: ‘Kill ’em All!’

From today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

After Israel’s bombing of a Gaza refugee camp this week killed scores of civilians, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told CNN that there should be “no limit” on the number of civilians Israel can kill. In a previous interview he urged Israel to turn Gaza into post-WWII Berlin. Also today, US House passes resolution authorizing attacks on Iran.

‘As a Human Being, I Beg’: Doctors Say Ceasefire in Gaza Only Way to Save Countless Lives

As the World Health Organization warns of an “imminent public health catastrophe” in Gaza amid Israeli attacks on medical workers and infrastructure, doctors and other frontline medics said Wednesday that only an immediate cease-fire would give them a fighting chance to save countless lives.

Responding Wednesday to the shutdown of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital – Gaza’s only cancer treatment center – due to lack of fuel and damage from Israeli airstrikes, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that “no words can describe our concern for the patients who have just lost the only possibility to receive lifesaving cancer treatment or palliative care.”
