On the eve of what was to be a highly-scripted visit by President Biden to Israel and Jordan, an apparent bombing of a hospital in Gaza tore the plan to shreds as anger at Israel and the US exploded in the region. The Arab leaders he was scheduled to meet in Jordan all bailed out of the summit, leaving just Biden and Netanyahu in an awkward embrace. Also today, Rep. McCaul to authorize US force against Lebanon? Biden to demand another $100 billion for Israel and Ukraine.

Nothing Screams Peace Like the Deployment of Warships

The U.S. approach to the crisis in Gaza is to send two aircraft carrier strike groups to the region. Because nothing screams peace like the deployment of warships. (Not to worry: it’s all about “deterrence” and “containment,” not about long-range strike.)
I remember when the Navy used “task force” rather than “strike group” to describe aircraft carriers and their associated escort ships. I suppose I have to applaud the Navy for stressing these are offensive, “forward-leaning” ships capable of inflicting enormous damage on an enemy.

Ron Paul on US Combat Troops to Gaza? Say It Ain’t So, Joe!

Media is reporting that President Biden is about to deploy some 2,000 US troops to the Gaza region in response to the recent unrest between Israel and Hamas. An additional 2,000 Marines are reported to join them and an additional 10,000 troops may be deployed in the two US Carrier Strike Groups that the US has sent to Israel’s coast. Is Biden sneaking the US into a massive Middle East war?

Navy Fails to Hold Officers Accountable Red Hill Toxic Fuel Spill Disaster
Almost two years after the Navy’s massive jet fuel spill from the 80-year-old Red Hill underground fuel tank facility and one month before the October 16, 2023 defueling begins of the 104 million gallons remaining in 14 of the 20 massive fuel tanks, Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro has finally held 14 Navy officials “accountable” for the Red Hill disaster, but he did not fire, suspend, dock the pay or reduce the rank of any of the 14 for the toxic contamination of the drinking water of 93,000 and the pollution in the aquifer for the city of Honolulu!!!!
Instead, the 14 have received reprimand through Letters of Censure and Letters of Instruction (whatever that is)—and revocation of end of Red Hill tour medals.
