The US organization Veterans For Peace has issued a statement in support of Israeli soldiers who are refusing to fight in Gaza.
“You are doing the right thing,” the veterans group writes, while applauding the Israeli military reservists who are calling for a ceasefire and the release of hostages, and who say they will not participate in genocide. “Your courageous stance may be answered by official threats and even imprisonment, but you will never regret refusing to kill innocent Palestinian men, women and children.”
California trauma surgeon Feroze Sidhwa saw real trauma in Gaza. He saved children who had been shredded by bombs. Dr. Sidhwa appeared on the Kim Iverson Show to talk about his experiences in Gaza, as well as the repercussions against healthcare workers who are trying to aid the Palestinians.
Dr. Sidhwa has written a letter urging people to contribute to Antiwar.com during our fundraising drive.

Some U.S. universities have torn down solidarity sukkahs that Jewish students opposed to Israel’s war on Palestinians have built in recent days to honor the Sukkot holiday and to “protest as the Israeli military continues to invoke the Jewish tradition as fuel for the destruction of Gaza.”
Sukkahs are temporary booths erected for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, an eight-day celebration of the fall harvest and the ancient Israelites’ escape from slavery in Egypt.
