Thursday: 8 Iraqis Killed, 17 Wounded

As Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Iraq today, two Turkish citizens were killed inside the neighboring country. At least eight Iraqis were killed and another 17 were wounded in other incidents across the country. No Coalition deaths were reported, but one American soldier was wounded in Mosul. Also, an international think tank admonished Iraq for what it calls its "lack of generosity" towards its own refugees.

In Baghdad, two people were killed and 13 others were wounded during a car bombing in the Mansour neighborhood. A bomb on Palestine St. killed one person and wounded four others. In Sleikh, an IED targeting a U.S. patrol failed to cause casualties. Also, an unidentified body was discovered.

In Mosul, gunmen shot dead the head of a National Identification office; his cousin, the provincial governor, survived an assassination attempt recently. A civilian was killed in a separate incident. Also, A Turkish truck driver was killed in an IED attack. Another Turk was also reported killed.

A body was found in Tuz Khormato.

In Sama, clashes left one gunman dead.

Twenty suspects were arrested in Yusufiya.

At least 30 suspects were detained in central and northern Iraq.

In Basra, no casualties were reported when the British base attacked twice with rockets.

No casualties were reported after an attack on border guards in Panjween.
